About MeIn 1999, I filed for divorce after 25 years and was on my own for the first time in my life. In 2000, I met my future husband online and we were married in 2005. I relocated to the east side of Michigan to live with him and be near his job. (Go figure!!!) I'm 53 now and I have three adult children (2 sons & 1 daughter), two daughters-in-law and five very precious grandchildren. I struggle with obesity, diabetes, panic attacks and various other mental health issues.

Funny you should ask this. Gas went up 17 cents overnight here in my town. It's now $3.95. To answer your question....yes. I no longer go to the mall just to be going and I evaluate what errands I need to run and plan my route. This is not how I thought I would be spending my retirement years.
Yes...I am now working very close to home and not driving 20 miles one way. It is just awful. I am thinking about purchasing a bicycle to do my small shopping since Walmart isn't that far away.
Definitely making us as a family review our driving needs, and our Scout troop has to consider the distance for our trips now too.
Allen has to drive a certain amount each week for work, so that eats up much of our current gas budget.
I'm thinking now of not taking a roadtrip i was planning because of the cost -- so i'm not sure yet. but round the town driving, not yet.
Yep, and that and my step-son might prevent me from going back to Ohio next month for my birthday, dad's birthday, and my family reunion. Yes, I'm pouting.
Last time I was in town it was at $3.59.
Our driving habits sure have changed.
I wish I could. I would if public transit were quicker & more convenient.
